What makes IPM different?
- Understanding of how a stamping program works – 30 years experience.
- Use of many tools to maintain control :
- Tagging system for parts identification.
- ABC system for identifying and tracking issues.
- Gantt chart – we actually use.
- Open issues – we actually track weekly.
- PSR system to track part levels, dates, etc that all tie back to our Gantt chart.
- Shim Log
- Quality
- Maintain quality loops throughout program
- Participate and manage GD&T
- Manage build of all gages
- Identify all areas of concern utilizing ABC system throughout Quality Loop System
- Facilitate PFMEA
- Program Management
- Use of standardized forms and program management tools to effectively manage and communicate program
- Functional Build
- Quality loops to determine issues and find resolution
- Starting at assembly quality, not component quality, and work backward to resolve assembly issues by modyfiying and adjusting dies – much better success rate (repeatability Cp) if assembly has non-stressful build.
